Hey, welcome back Late to Grid podcast. I'm here in the Atomic Autosport studio to bring a returning guest and a new guest to talk about, not only motorsports, but a very cool and very popular already tire in the marketplace. We're going to get to that in just a minute. But I have two gentlemen. I'm with the same name, Johnny Miller and Johnny Miller V so we're going called Johnny and Johnny V. Johnny's thanks for being here today. Thanks for having us. Absolutely. For for my, regular listeners. And that's that's my mom. You'll remember we had Johnny Miller on back in December of 23, where we talked a lot about the extreme contact force, continental tire and talked about Johnny's awesome racing background. That is, I can't even we don't have enough time to go through it. We're gonna put a link to the show notes, go back and listen that episode. And there's one thing I'm going to talk about before we talk about Johnny V's background and the exciting tire news. Johnny, in that episode, you talked about a very important piece of advice, and that's racing is all about the details. So for someone that hasn't heard that yet, what do you mean by that? Well, what you get is a bit of a loaded question, but, you know, it's a game of details and it's details of yourself, of the car, of the track. And it's it's not just, you know, there's always this perception, I think, that you just go to the track and hold the gas down. Right. And it's just not like that. And it's when I say details, it's 2 pounds of tire pressure. Make a difference. How many laps you've had in your car. Makes a difference where you sit in the car makes a difference for your pedal angle. You just go down a litany of things, and a lot of people are like, oh, I did the I did a simulator, and I got a thousand horsepower. I'm ready to go. And it's really not like that. It's a repetitive learning thing. And where that comes from is there's anybody I mean, there's all kinds of phone apps, like the one I tell you with is Harry's, right. You download a Harry's phone app and it's what is it, 40 bucks and you put a speed trace in and you look at those curves as you drive around a track and you go one lap on the other next lap and it's ten second different and it's, it's it's all over and all those curves. So it's a, it's a foot here and a curb there. And I made my car better over here. And so you really have to concentrate on the details of the driving and the details of the car. It's just it's not as simple as just pulling your foot down. And then most people that have done it, if you don't realize that. But for the really new folks, it's it's a game of details. And Auto Crossing actually really showcases that, right? I mean, what is it? A, you know, a 30, a 32nd run? Think of the number of decisions you make in a 32nd run. It's not three, it's three a second. So it's just an interesting. So this is all about the game. It is about details. And and don't let them get away from you and, and and try to organize it into a goal and, and then work on the details that you have control of. Right. And don't, don't always I don't have the money or don't have this or that or take what you have and set it up the best you can. Optimize it, optimize yourself. You it's game of details that way. That's my take, my take on it anyway. So yeah, that's great feedback. And folks if you if you didn't hear he alluded to the fact that concentrate on the ones you can control and set a goal. So while there might be thousands of details that we need to worry about when we're going around the track or be concerned about, focus on the ones you can control. Focus on the ones you can improve upon that day. Because, Johnny, a lot of people show up to the track and there's like, man, I'm going after a PB today. I'm going to be I'm going to be doing it. What? How what? I'm just going to drive better. How? Well, and then you get the silence, right? They they're not breaking it down. The steering or braking or suspension settings. Yeah. It's, you know, and and it's funny and they all usually people try to you know, we've all seen the t shirt. You know ATC got to break. That's actually not a good philosophy. But it did. So especially. With. Abs. But I think, you know, it is it is, it is. Look for a difference between a pole position lap and a fifth place lap in a pro race is a couple tenths of a second in 4 or 5 corners, and that gives you a 10th down the straightaway or two. And you look at the field, you know, and the top guys are separated. And it's funny. You can look at the field every five different makes of cars and they're all within a second. How does that happen? Well, it's a game of details, man. They're honing the cars in themselves and they're looking for that last little bit. And you know it's and that's your thing. By the way the pro racing does teach you is there is always somebody else looking to hey don't get complacent I see that a lot. Oh I did a 32 I'm good to go in the next section. Some guy there's a 29 or whatever it is right. You're like, how did that happen? I only you weren't, you know, you didn't try again. So, another thing, another thing. And I don't want to put too much, but I am a, an old school fan of maps. One of the thing to do is to download a lot of the HPD groups, have them, and people discount it. I don't know if they feel embarrassed by doing it. Yes. Johnny, watch me. At the championship at Mid-Ohio, I was struggling in, national championship, and I went and I went to the hotel and I got a map, and I sat down and. And you're right, the corners and the brake zones and the shifts and and you figure out where you can be faster. And it was, it was just a couple tents and a track record and, you know, won the event. But it's, it's, that it really is. Concentrate on that. Concentrate on, concentrate on being there too. A lot of us go for the camaraderie and fun. I mean, I do, but if you want to win the, the, the fast guys are really working at it. They really are. So yeah, that's great. Before we transition and learn more about Johnny B, I have to remind the listeners and we talked about this Johnny in a, in the December episode last year, a group of friends and I were at Tail the Dragon in November of 23, one of the guys had a C5 Corvette. Brand new Extreme Contact Force Continental tires, 315 wide, and day one it's flat. He picked up a big nail. We're unifying the three. We drove out. By the way, we calculated where we put those nails. Yeah, that's so well. So for the listener real quickly you know we're in North Carolina. We're calling around the tire shops trying to find a 315. Nobody's got them new or used. On a whim. We reach out to track day tire.com where you gentlemen are from. And, at first nobody answered. I think it might have been a Saturday morning. Maybe a Friday morning. It was Saturday. Morning. Yeah. And and then we get a call back saying, hey, we missed a call. What's up you guys? So yeah, you're an hour and a half from our warehouse. We got over there, got a tire, got it mounted and balance, which we didn't expect and got back on the road. And the reason I bring that up is, folks, when you're looking for tires that you're going to be using on the track or autocross, you have to look at track day, tire.com, unbelievable service. So thank you for that. Thank you. Yeah. So Johnny V no stranger to motorsports, no stranger to the tire business. It's good to have you on. You got started racing carts in dirt right? Yep. Yeah. Started with that. Yeah. Honestly, just, you know, family love for sure. It runs in the front of the veins. It started with dirt, though, because I think that that was you know, East Tennessee, you've got Bristol and you've got dirt racing everywhere all over. Stop. So that I think was just probably the that was honestly the easiest to kind of get me into. And so started doing that and found out real quick, I'm not a dirt guy. And that's just kind of its own way of life for sure. So I couldn't keep pace with that. But I started doing that when I was 6 or 7 and then, did that year, you know, went up to Virginia and started doing some, got out of dirt stuff and started doing road course karting and did like an indoor karting league with a couple couple friends are all the same age, you know, middle school and then just had a lot of fun with that. Had, had some karts ourselves and just, started doing it and then they got a little too dangerous. So I moved to a Corvette. Well. What he's not telling you his dad dad wrecked his car is where it got dangerous, so. Yeah. Okay. So here we go. We got a car. We got a Corvette. But the other three and all that's happened to them, they're. They're slow. Yeah. So we'll take. Yeah. That's great. And, so Johnny V, he talked about getting on track. Br in a, in a C6. How long, how long did you do motorsports events like that or the time trials or just track days? That one was just, I believe, honestly, just, like a track day event, with the Corvette club. That was kind of my first one into it. And it honestly, it, you know, it changed my life. I think there's even I even got a YouTube video from me and car, and, you know, I remember down that back straightaway in the air doing 140, 130, hundred 40 miles an hour for the first time ever coming from a go kart, you know, and you're in a cage that and you're like, I, you know, I may or may not survive this, but at least I'm having a good time. So. We think he had a smile on when he hit. When he. Crashed. Yes. Yeah. Thankfully I haven't had any issues. But, you know, we're good. We're good. So. Well, so the caged vet, it's much different than a regular fat. What kind of car was this one? Not a snake. No, it was a phoenix. Why was D1 guard d1 c 61 car? Yeah. It was an HP. He was an hp D1 with Hoosier Ace mixes on a Phoenixville LS2, T1 car. Sure. Let's just roll up in. That is roll, man. We're gonna roll it. All right. Did you bring the whole pit crew to. That was there? Yeah, yeah. Yeah, that's about it. That's for there. Yep. And, that's that's great. So Johnny V, let's learn a little bit more about what you're doing with track day tire. Not not the tire announcement. What's your day to day role with the company. So a lot of it comes down to, a lot of it comes down to customer interface. I'll handle everything from phone calls to emails to, you name it, text messages. And, just work with folks trying to figure out what, you know, the initial first step. Right? So they call me and they're looking for, hey, I've got this on my car right now, but I'm trying to get to the track. What do I really need? And then I'll kind of facilitate. Hey, here's a couple different options. Here's what you're running now. Here's something comparable or something maybe that'll get you to that next level. If you feel like you're in that, you know, if you're in that space, if you are ready to go to that next level and then so I'll kind of interface that whole, conversation and transaction as well as, you know, social media marketing, digital marketing, email advertisements and, and partnerships. And then I kind of take that and pass it off to my father here, and he'll kind of go from there and, you know, do all sorts of technical application fitment expertise. You know, he's the guru. That's I tell everybody he's the he's the guru. So that's that's kind of a little bit about my role. You know, just more or less you know it's obviously it's a small company. So it's a lot of different roles. But I'm really that's that customer interfacing position. Gotcha. So let's go ahead and transition to there is a buzz right now in the motorsports community about some new tire by some tire manufacturer. Yeah. Tell us all about this. What's going on. Who's responsible for this. And then I have a bunch of questions. Well, you know, it's been in the works for a while. And this tire, it's it's a, it's it's truly a Hoosier. It's a, you know, it has continental engineering because there's a lot of continental engineers there. But this is this is all the best of what Hoosier has learned. And and this is how I like to say it. And we sell a lot of great products, and there are a lot of great products in the market. The majority of the products are compound products that people use are ultra high performance street tires. A lot of them have to do more than one thing. The Michelin is an example of that, where it has to be an OEM tire. You meet all that criteria and it has to really do some all season stuff and do a few things right. Hoosier is a race racing track. Every giant that's that's that's what they do, okay. And so they build race tires and then sort of pull them into the yeah, this is going to be a street tire. And so they did that on steroids. This is a ground up redesign. This is not an R-7 one tread. This is a it's it's new construction, new material. And depending on the competitor it can be 6 or 7 pounds lighter in any given size. And you see it in that profile performance. You really see that. I mean, every pound out of a tire, you know, the old school math and the 15 inch tire days on a stock car, right? Was every pound out of a tire was six and a half pounds out of the car under accelerating braking. So if you take four tires at 7 pounds, it's a significant change in the vehicle dynamics. And it's unsprung. Right. So, this is a ground up piece and we, Johnny and I and and, and his mom were all we all went testing with a lot of the folks at thermal, last Wednesday, I think it was we drove, m2's comps and three comps and four comps and GT4 Evos with these tires on. We did high speed stuff. Hundred and 40, 150 miles an hour, high speed lapping. We did, autocross stuff. We did slaloms. We did short course avoidance. And the competitors were the 71 Rs. The A 52, the cup to our and the Hoosier, and it it's really a fast tire and it is, the best way to say it is I'm sure there'll be experts that win races on this tire. No doubt in my mind, the biggest thing that this tire does, and we were talking about this when we were there, were the engineering teams. And we see this Johnny and I see this in the track day side. Not everybody is Mario Andretti, right? Not everybody wins. There's another 30 guys that didn't. And this is a race tire. And it feels like that it can make corrections mid-corner. It can respond mid-corner. And so if you're a 50% person it takes you to 70. If you're 70, it takes you to 90. That's where you'll see. The biggest difference is people who want to improve. And they're you know, I mean, I kind of joke with the engineers whenever we do a testing, we, you know, hire some guy from an IMSa team and they spend all this money and put it on a beautifully set up car. It's great. And it sets a track record, no doubt that we do that all day long. Right? You can't if you got a good problem. But, you know, the average guy that, you know got seven track days under his belt, he's trying to get the group to put him on his car and drives it to the track. And wow, he's a lot faster than the other ones. And most of it is in the field and the structure of the tire, it's not so much the stickiness. And that that was the biggest thing to me is when you're sort of sloughing around, it's pretty fast. So I can go on and on about it, but it really is. It is a nice piece. Are a lot of tires. It's it's a nice piece. So. Yeah. Johnny V, before we get your perspective, I want to go back to something that Johnny said. Unsprung weight. What is that mean? It's it's the weight beyond the spring. It's not being supported by the spring is being controlled by the shock. And so your shock damping and spring and bar control, it's anything that's beyond the spring. So what? The spring holds up. If you do all the engineering diagrams and you look at what the spring goes up that sprung mass and you're trying to control it, unsprung is hanging out in the breeze and it does different things at were we were seeing the biggest noticeable difference was actually in ABS performance on stock ABS units. The racing ABS really like the adjuster racing ABS and the GT4 cars, the stock BMW stuff. You could feel it in the braking avoidance where because the tire was much lighter, the ABS didn't get it could react to control the tire better under the stop, and that's an unsprung weight change. So if that makes sense. Sure. Yeah. So Johnny V, it had been a while since you've been, driving the car competitively or, you know, at 10/10, so to speak. Yeah. What was it like not only getting back behind the wheel, but getting in in the car with these Hoosiers on it? Yeah. Honestly, for me, it was life changing. The first event we did it, this test was an autocross. And so I started out with the Bridgestone on the car on the M2 comp, and, you know, I was getting my sessions and getting warmed up, and I was like, I feel pretty, pretty good about my runs right now. So I switched to the Hoosier. And, you know, this is going to sound biased, but it felt like a completely different car in a good way. So much so, I pulled up the pressures on the, the computer of the car, and I was like, man, is there there's something that is just completely different right now. And in my brain I'm thinking, oh, the is the car is just different. You know, it's like, no, no, no, no, no, I completely changed tires. And it's the Hoosiers. And they're just like, I mean, if I had a one word phrase, you know, it's just confidence. It was the biggest thing for me, from that tire, and not only was it, you know, I could immediately tell when I was, you know, going through the cones, you know, just I didn't feel like I was about to roll over and just lose control. It was just immediate. Just stamped on the ground. So for me, it was. It was a huge confidence booster. And I even noticed that, you know, and later on, when we drove the M4, you know, you know, you're doing a 135 front straightaway, and, you're really trying to trust the brakes. And then I felt, you know, a lot of my my apex was a little bit off, so I felt like I was able to just readjust that without feeling like I was going to lose control. So for me, you know, of course I sell this tire, but this tire is a game changer. I think for a lot of people that are are driving to the track and want something fast or just are just at the track and just I just want something that's within that 200 shred where a market that's just going to give me a lot of confidence and just to be a lot quicker even than the competition. So, GV think about it from a novice perspective. Someone is just just getting into the sport. They're probably doing some HPD or time trials, maybe an autocross. What would they feel? Or what should they look out for on their current tires? To know that their tires are no longer, they're driving beyond the limits of the tire. What would they feel? But then what would they get? Moving to the Hoosier? I think a lot of it is, again, I kind of wrap it up with confidence kind of thing. I think if you're maybe pushing towards the edge of your current setup or your current tires, you'll start to find that you're maybe you're you're pushing more throughout the corners, maybe you're rolling into things a little bit more, maybe you're letting off, maybe you're just not being as confident as a driver because you're you're being limited by what's left or what your capabilities are for the tire that you have. And so for me, I would say, you know, maybe, you know, in the end, because especially through I mean, we went from obviously they were sticker at first to I mean, those tires probably had I don't know how many sessions on it. By the end of the day, but it seemed very consistent throughout. And I think, you know, maybe even going to that kind of tire will instill a little bit more confidence and kind of help someone regain their, their driving line or, just better braking confidence again, like you're coming off that front straightaway and you want to you want to get to your breaking point, but you're a little afraid that you're going to roll, you know, roll the car a little bit and slightly determine, you know, well, maybe this this may fix that. Had either of you been the thermal before? No, no. It's private. Yeah. Any IndyCar does a test session there. That's the only pictures I've seen. What was it like rolling in there? That beautiful. Yeah. Well I mean BMW has a has a school there and that's what the test was based around. But they have their GT4 experience there. So they had a a dozen new 2024 2025. Everything was 2024 2025 cars. And so the you know, those cars were full on mode paddle shift fill in case that air conditioning because the double. But it was 97 I think. Oh yeah almost ten degrees. Yeah. Yeah. So and it was 97 at like 10 a.m.. So you got to kind of put that in perspective. You know we're out here and this these are fantastic. And it was a 100 degrees on a Sunday on these cars. And and so yeah it was but they're all in beautiful place. And it was a great place for a test and it was enough that, you know, different courses. And so it was really enjoyable, really enjoyable. So I think. Meeting brand new BMW is to death with air conditioning on. What more could you ask for? But I think for me the biggest thing too was we went from one session just driving the M4 comp street car. You know, we went from one session to doing that, pushing it to the limit around the track. And then the next, the very next session we did 20 minutes later was in that GT4, M4 with the same exact tires. And you're pushing the same this car now to a new limit and you're, you know, suited up hands. How am I? It's a whole new world. I mean, for me especially, you know, I'm not used to that. So it was definitely out of my element. But I did not feel like I one time lost confidence in where I was going in the grip and my turn in and my braking like it was. That's what was, I think the most shocking to me was no matter what car we ran, that tire on, it was the same level of confidence for me. And, you know, I think a lot of people experience the same exact thing. And definitely from what we heard from other participants, it was very mutual. And we are all we're not we weren't kissing, but to anybody, it was a genuine response. That sounds like a, what I would classify as a good day at work. Yes. No. No spreadsheet per day? No. Yeah. Hanging out at an automotive country club you're surrounded with brand new BMW was some of the best tires people in the world. That's that's a good day at work. No good BMW as far as you can see, man. Just beat them to death. They break one, roll another one out. So we they all had left than 3 or 4000 miles on them. So that was yeah. So pick a color. So nice. So let's talk about who this tire is for and who it's not for. So where do you see the biggest application, the biggest buyer that's going to put these on their car? We see that in, in, all levels, I think of the HPD ranks. The people who trailer may run, just for life. And life predictability, drivability. Because it really is a fabulous tire. But where you'll see it is, you know, they're kind of headed towards group one and two, as I would call it. You know, you go buy a new Mustang, Camaro, BMW, Porsche, whatever, you know. And those cars are phenomenal, right. And they're they're headed towards that market where you can put these on, drive it to the track, go really fast. Like you know it's not an hour seven. Yeah. It's pretty close okay. And drive it home. And so from a a fun perspective and you've been to the track I mean you know you're out there loading and loading. You're not changing tires. You're not it's it's a lot of fun with your street car. And there's a lot of folks out there. I mean, the if you know, the track day world is the director all booked, right? So they're full and, you'll see a lot of it. And toward 200 staff, we've, you know, we've seen, you know, real guys and people buying them already. Right. And and because they're going to be fast. So you're going to see a lot of racecars running them. That that's really kind of a given. What a Hoosier. But what you're also going to see is the ability to, to drive, to track, drive confidently and fast and drive home, you know, because, you, you can't do that on a slick. And this is about as close to get. Right. That's the really the answer, right? So let's say it was before. Now it is it currently this tire, is it 5.3 30s. So that is not legal for SCCA for autographs. And so there's a lot of ongoing discussions about that. But that Hoosier added SCCA, I don't know the answer. We don't know. We don't work for either camp. Right. But I would I would expect, you know, something to change there in one direction or the other. Maybe different, maybe different sizes have different depths, I don't know, but, or maybe SCCA, who knows, right. What that does. But everywhere other than auto crossing, well, everywhere other auto crossing on to hunters because you can still run the tire, just run it in. And if we are open class. Right. But it's, that's where I see this big in the HPD world in the trend War 200 racing what you do and, you know, that's where it's going. And and, you know, the other part is you go by, I know you buy a new Camaro 0112. It's a street car. How do you hook it up? Yeah, you dig around with it? It's 850 horsepower, 80, 85. Good luck hooking that up. So. And good luck making it through the off ramp. There's a lot of those people, right? They don't race them. They don't want to go to politics. They don't do any of that. Right. And I want to go to tech. They want to drive the car. These would be fabulous for that. And so that this is truly designed to go into those markets, and be sold as a street, street car. Oh, just like the competitors, we tax it again up to our and, and, you know, the, the Bridgestone in the UK. Okay. So, so in terms of this as a recent launch and availability, I, you know, I saw on your website that you have a lot in stock already, but a lot of size is coming. And it looks like by the end of 2024, everything from the 15 to the was 19. The biggest. No. They're going to go up. So there's there's three stages. We didn't put the third stage on and it'll be late 25. We're going to be more defined in the date. They'll go into 20 ones GT3, GT3, Rs and big sidewall stuff. And so you'll see all the way from 15 to 20 ones, and be able to hit most all applications. I don't have the total in front of me. I want to say it's 66 or something like that. Size is it's a significant number. So that's a lot. It's a lot. It's a lot of SKUs. And you'll see you'll see a pretty good fill here by race season 25, you know, March you'll be able to get the big, big rear stuff. That's that's a big one. 330 for good guys, cars and that kind of stuff. And 335 3018 like. Yeah, but folks could go today to attract a tire.com and see what you do have available. Right. And everything that Hoosier has built, we have them. That's pretty much were all the cities are one of the largest, Hoosier warehouses in the country. And so pretty much everything Hoosier built in circuit racing, we have pretty much if it's a if it's any level of popularity, we'll have multiples. And so we got a lot of these and sold a lot. I mean, a lot of people took on I mean, first day it was maybe we were air freight them around the country. While we were out there driving. Yeah. Literally, literally they were you get an email and they go, yeah, it's it was one of those deals. So we were working a little bit. Bill. I mean, come on now. You guys are always on top of it. No, no doubt about it. I do want to talk a little bit more about track datacom, but before we do, is there anything else we need to talk about? The Hoosier track attack tire? No. I just recommend people buy a not for probably better buy. It's like the shampoo instructions, right? Rinse and repeat, man. Yeah, do it twice. Do it twice. I don't know, Johnny. You feel free to add anything you want. I did, I mean, I think just a core key factor that a lot of people don't really know, or maybe kind of overlooked in some of the marketing material is its weight. They say, you know, in the marketing material, featherweight, tire like, very light. But it's we've heard different numbers. You know, there's the marketing numbers that are like 14 to 26% lighter than the competition. And then we've heard weights, you know, 4 to 6 pounds less. That's pretty significant, I think. And just something to cool to like to know, you know, this tires a lot lighter than the competition. And that's really where you're seeing a lot of that. You know how it's so nimble and able to be, you know, just to keep my grip pretty well and pretty fast for 200, shredding our tire. So because, you know, there's a huge difference between that and the ECF, you know, an endurance style 200 treble, a tire that's higher. You know, you can get up the temp and last a long time. This tire will get up ten a little bit quicker. Maybe not last as long. And be a little bit quicker than the ECF. But a lot of that, you know, that weight interchange is just a pretty big deal that I think is very unique, and definitely derivative to Hoosiers long time history of racing tires. I mean, they obviously know what they're doing. And that's I just think that's something that's really unique and cool. So yeah. So you mentioned endurance racing. Do you think and then we might not have all the data yet, but a lot of series 200 tread water tire. Do you think this new Hoosier you know could last a race weekend. You know eight hours Saturday, eight hours Sunday? Without changing? Well, we don't have that data yet. You know, there's a depth difference. I can tell you this. You probably won't care because it be a fast. That's a good point. That's right. That's kind of what we tell people. We tell them that you used to tell them out on the A7. They'll say, well, they sevens, they'll last long time. We go, yeah, put them on and give us a call. They'll call you next week. I get two sets of those. Yeah. So it's got a little bit. You know, it's kind of funny because you, you asked in your, your email, you know, kind of some of the strangest requests we have and that sort of leads from that topic right there. One of the strangest ones we have is people will put different brands of tires on the, on a different into the car for a cost savings. And I'm, you know, Johnny gets all these now. But when I was getting them they're like, so you take it $80,000 car, you're going to spend 500 bucks on gas and you're going to go run it, and you're going to save $164 to balance your car and make it drive bad. It doesn't make any sense. The tires are huge. Put your tires on the car, but good brake pads in the car and get some seat time. Everything else. Or you know, everybody works on horsepower and it's need. I'm Johnny, his name, but you know there's well if if you if you're sitting there and your foot's not on the gas, it doesn't matter how much work are you have, you gotta have your foot on the throttle, man. You got to be driving the car. So you got to have grip, got that brakes. And then confidence got another track, you know, that kind of thing. And so that you know for us I it it's kind of a if it's a car saying look it look at the return to or as I would say is the juice worth the squeeze. Right. You know, look at the return is what you get. So yeah we're tire salesman is really not. It's more than that. That's real. So let's talk about track day tire.com. Super. So we've been using tracked a tire.com few years now to get car, you know, tires for the race team. Directing people there. The feedback I get all the time is easy to use website, easy to, you know, do the whole checkout process and then the tires show up very quickly. You guys focus. Yeah. Right. That's extra. Yeah. Okay. But the cool thing is, most of the times, they show up in a box with a sticker and at the at Atomic Auto Sports, when these, you know, we have clients a chip on their, their so we can install them. But my guys always say it's so nice. They come in a box because they're not bound together, you know, holding the sidewalls down, which then makes it difficult to to get them to bead. So let's first talk about the website track de tire.com. What can people find out there? What kind of information? You mean everything from. Yeah, I think that, yeah. I mean, everything from, you know, obviously which tire you're looking for. Everything from, you know, information about, like, the new track attack or, the ECF tire. You know, links to partners. Let's see different, yeah. Really just, I guess, products and availability and then, just, you know, new sections about products, and then, yeah, hopefully a good seamless experience with, with purchasing. Right. What? There's a there's an aspect on the website, sponsor driver. What does that. Oh, you take that one. Where if you're, you know, we, we do some, some sponsorship programs. And if you're using the product, and using the product and then we take a look at socials, take a look at the car, take a look at the application. If it's the right product for the application, then we we help you out. We go. Being and racing for years, I always thought it was funny that the guy that wins gets free tires. And I go, look, that's the last guy needs free tires. He's got to win. Yeah. And love them. And I've been there and I've taken them and that's great. But we want to help people, you know, we want to help people who are getting into the sport kind of cradle to grave through the sport, to understand it, to get the right product, you know, get a little bit of deal on it. It's it's not a big deal, but it it helps. It helps. It helps everybody or else everybody who qualifies. And it's it's not a hard thing to do. But we just, we, we kind of spread the wealth and being supportive. Right. And, and a lot of that is, you know, we're not, I'm not really looking for people to run a sevens on the street, that kind of thing. Right. But a lot of the, some of that is just really to give guidance. Now the track is going to be different because it is a street tire and ECF is a little different. But, you know, the impetus behind a lot of that is to understand and to build a relationship, to give people the right product. We're not trying to compete selling light truck tires. We're not we're not in the passenger tire business. We're not going to compete with the tire shop down the street. Not our job, but we're trying to do is is provide a service and expertise in basically the our compound market very niche. We're not you know that that's our world and and it can because it's hard to find the right information. It's hard to find you know pressures and cambers and you know a lot of that stuff. It's kind of funny. It's it's always the NBA answer. Right. Well it depends. So we get you get a lot of contact forms. And that's what we do is answer a, you know, answer based on application. When what are you doing. Different people do different things. And you have a a person that's a group one person who's learning well, they really don't need a they need to track contact. I don't need an hour seven or an eight seven or Mitchell and Slick, you know, they they need a tire that talks to them. Maybe they need ECF. Maybe they're running every session to learn the track, and they really don't need to be the fastest. Right. And then what is the pressure? Work on a car. So what is it way, you know. Well, I always having an instructor. You know, I always do the carry before all those things. Right. And that's what we do and that's all part of that sponsorship program. And so you fill it out and you get a code, you get a deal on it, and you also get guidance and help you have a resource. So that sounds awesome. So listeners, if you're looking to maybe get a discount on tires and you want to learn more to make you better on track, definitely hit track the tire.com and look for that sponsor driver button. Click it and fill it out in the the Millers will be in touch. Any big 57 or 60 questions with some upload. Hit save as you go along. Yeah, if you go a long ways. Now that's that's great. And that's one of the things I love about your organization is, you know, you're just not looking to sell tires. You're looking to help because the more people on track and the more fun it is for us. They're already involved, right? We try we just want to go out and take a podium because nobody else showed up. We want to be. You look at it, you know, you look at the sport, right? And and it is growing. This is the one part that is growing. And there's only so many race cars in the world. Right. But you know, you the Chevy dealer and the Ford dealer, they're all making race cars every day. When you look at them in black and gold all day. Myself, back in my day, you couldn't do that. You couldn't go buy a 78 Camaro and take it to the track like you want to put a motor in it. So I think that, you know, you, but you go to today, you buy a bread and butter car and buy some trucks and they do it right. So there's a lot of room there. And those vehicles are really fast. You know, I, you know, and I use the Camaro's example do 011 Ali and Road Atlanta will go Daytona. They go almost 20 miles an hour. Battery. Do you need to talk about tire pressures before you do that in that car? You know you need somebody to, you know, just go stick them on there. Right. And so that's that's what we that's the other thing we were saying is it's just there's just a vacuum of knowledge. Now the automakers are starting to put the stuff in the owner's manual, the all new. That's instead anything new Camaros, new Porsches, you know, they actually have sections for how to set the car for the track, which is good, but there's still a lot there. And that one was last time you read your owner's manual, right? So yeah, we see that a lot in our business. I bet you. Just check your owner's manual to answer that question for you. They told you to do it three years ago. Yeah. So yeah. Any other than having the Hoosier in stock and available, any big changes for your track, they tell you that. Com coming up. You driving for you can get that with you on. Yeah. I mean really you know we've got some cool things coming down the line. We've just adopted, Michelin tires, specifically just the racing stuff. You know, where we were bringing in the slicks. And then soon to be announced, this is a podcast exclusive. Some cut two hours. So the plan is to, you know, we're obviously bringing Michelin slicks for the racing guys for that call, and that's a whole new crowd. You know, these racing guys that are running those, and then they come to ours that I'll be in a similar market to the track attack, but still a different crowd. And a lot of guys, you know, that already have this two hours on their Porsches or their, lambos, you name it. You know, they already have that car. Yeah. That tire. So, we want to be a kind of be able to offer that and give another, another option. So that's kind of what's what's coming up next. And then, yeah. That that's exciting for sure. Yeah. You heard it. Here first, folks. Will you guys be a pri. We will be. All right. Good. We'll definitely have to sync up and meet there. And I'm sure the Hoosier booth, is going to be packed. Yes. Yes. This guy really is the deal. That's a really. So as we begin to wrap up here, how do folks get in touch with you? How do they follow you on the socials? Where do they go for all that stuff? Yeah, the best way, they can obviously head to our site and see our connections there. Sure. Through our social channels. But of course, you know, we're on Instagram is track the entire. Com Facebook as well. YouTube channel. But honestly our, our main, you know, like our main mode of contact that we really love is, you know, there's our, we have our cell phone numbers on the site as well as our email addresses. That's our best, quickest way to get in touch with other than, like, Instagram, which I'm using. I'm on there 24, seven, to talk. I mean, I'm literally out all day as well, just talking to people about fitment and redirecting for sizing. That's really the quickest way is to track your car AL.com and you'll find all that the contact button there. And we just try to try to get back to you as soon as possible for sure. But that's that's what we want to do is we want to have an open conversation and relationship, because we just want to make sure that the, the right tires are getting in the right hands and the right to set up and fitment is occurring. And now we have one can have a good a good track experience. Yeah. I'm going to offer some advice to the listeners. If you don't want to be late to grid, order your tires early from track Datacom. They'll show up on time. You get them out and balanced. That's the best way not to be late to grid. And I want to end this on a question to Johnny. So for you folks that are watching, you're going to see that there's a trophy case behind him. Doughboy. In that trophy case, which trophy are you most proud of and why? He, there is a trophy behind me, and it's actually silver, real silver. I wanted it lime Rock Park and 2003, we started. We were the fastest car, I think, in every session won from started on the pole. It went wet to dry. So we started qualified in the rain, put it on the pole, rained, started in the rain, went to dry and won the race. That was pretty fun and I was racing. A good friend of mine and Stu Haner and doing our old friends. We had a great time and it was Paul Luminous, I think, last event or close to his last event, he was, Carnival was 78, I do believe, because that's his age. His car was always his age, and I was I was Paul Newman's driving coach for when he won the runoffs at Mid-Ohio. And so it was it was kind of an old and it just fun. It like rock. I really like lime rock. And it was great. So that's a great story. Well, gentlemen, thank you for being on the late great podcast. Thanks for sharing more about track Day tire.com and the exciting new Hoosier track attack tire. I can't wait to, talk to you guys again. Absolutely. Thank you.
